No more excuses for growing out your fur!

So the other day I was desperate to get rid of that unruly hairy jungle mess that was accumulating on my legs. I walked into London Drugs, not willing to dish out more than $20 on wax. I picked up a box that I have previously bought 6 years ago...but was too terrified to use on myself. So now that I'm regularly getting waxed I would feel like cheating if that razor touched my legs.

So for starters: super easy. Heating it up is a breeze: twist cap off, remove plug, twist cap on, microwave for 15 secs, roll on. The kit comes with 10 strips that are washable and reusable. I used for 4 strips in total for both my lower legs. Even when I was using the strips continuously, the previous wax didn't transfer on my skin. In totally (and I was bored) it took me 25 mins for my lower legs, which includes the deep breaths and squealing.

For under $15.99, this is my new waxing regime when I don't have the cash or the time to get anything done professionally.

New Mac Quad shadow palette!

Mac Quad Palette Review!

So the other day I was sent out by a friend to MAC to use my discount. Sounds lovely doesn’t it? I was only coming in for 2 items but left with 3. The third being the new MAC Quad Palette. It looks amazing!
The truth?

Not really.

I have the original palette so I decided to do a comparison, pros and cons of both. Starting with the old and ending with the new:

Original Palette
Pro’s: Clear Lid; Removable plastic; Can hold between 4-6 MAC eyeshadows; Snap closure.
Con’s: Snap closure sometimes breaks; Magnetic falls out if plastic is removed; Eyeshadows need magnets.

New Palette
Pro’s: Clear Lid; Magnetic closure; Holds ONLY 4 MAC eyeshadows; Sturdy; Plastic is magnetic.
Con’s: Magnetic closure can wear off; Will ONLY hold 4 MAC eyeshadows; If plastic is removed there is no magnet underneath; Impossible to take out eyeshadows once they’re in.

So there you have it folks!
It’s up to you now to decide if this will be on your next MAC shopping list.

Joe Beauty

Joe Fresh Style is only found in Canada and only in Superstores across Canada. The company was founded by Joseph Mimran who also founded Club Monaco. The concept behind this line was to create fresh and trendy clothing that was available to the public at an affordable price. After the success of the clothing lines, Joe Beauty was launched. The whole line costs between 4-16 dollars Canadian including brushes.

I will start off with the lip products and say the lipsticks are amazing. If you are looking for the classic 50's red-orange go for Poppy. Its super creamy and feels fantastic on your lips. it up with Poppy Lip Gloss and your good to go.If you were looking for something more subtle, maybe a lip stain is the choice for you. These lip stains are in very cute adorable packaging that fit perfectly in your purse. They are long lasting and smell great, be sure to use them alone or under lipstick so you don't get color transfer on the felt tip. If you are more into lip liners, a great neutral shade to try is Rose. This twist up pencil also comes with a build in sharpener on the opposite end.

Next up will be the cheeks. Joe Beauty made it easy and only released staple colors for blush and bronzer. The blushes come in a great shades and have a very good payoff with a slight sheen. The bronzers do contain micro glitter so if you were opting in an all over bronzer I suggest picking up a pressed powder in a dark color because they work great for that. If you like a dewy finish to your cheeks, you must try the cheek stain. This product is selling like hot cakes for only $4 CDN, and is comparable to the Nars Multiples.

For facial products Joe carries cream and liquid foundation as well as pressed powder and a duo concealer. Unfortunately the foundations and concealers don't come in a wide variety of shades and skin tones. But for under $8 CDN are great when you need something in a pinch. The pressed powder is great on its own or to set your foundation as well as contouring and bronzing with a darker color.

A new addition this year was the nail polish collection. Joe came out with all the top new trendy Spring colors which were sold out instantly. Their color range is amazing and the polishes are highly pigmented, long lasting, super affordable and in the cutest packaging.

Saving the best for the last, the eye products, These eye-shadows are amazing! 3.3 grams for only $4 CDN! The packaging is very cute with a snap shut see-through lid. Joe Beauty keeps releasing new trend colors every season yet they still carry the favourites such as Bronze, Pebble and Dusty Rose. The mascara is great deal, don't be alarmed by the alcohol smell. It thickened lashes better than a high-end drugstore mascara ever could. The brush was very easy to get around the eye and bristles weren't too big that you would mark your skin. Unfortunately the sponge-tip eyeliner was a disappointment. There was little color payoff and you really had to rub hard to get any color which can be very irritating for sensitive eyes. The pencil eyeliners do a better job but they still are pretty hard. There great for applying a base to your eyelid with a brush since they are so thick.

Please note, all products in a pan form are very easily depottable. Please email if you are interested on how to do it.
